Sarah here! I am an unapologetic nerd, and I always have a soft spot for two things: the underdog and the eccentric. Shawde and Adam had my heart the first moment I met them, two beautiful and eccentric nerds...we belonged together! These two wanted a destination wedding near a lake and randomly picked Smith Mountain Lake! Shawde was taking on most of the decor herself with amazingly done DIY projects, and both had big dreams for food. The love between them is something that is wondrous to behold, and just being in their presence made me a little happier to be in the world.

Their big day came, and so did the rain! But, it wasn't going to stop this family from having a good time. In fact, the rain bought everyone together and made the evening feel a little more magical! After the outdoor ceremony, umbrellas in tow, the guests came in to a Southern feast, complete with a biscuit bar, a BBQ station with pulled pork BBQ, sauces, corn on the cob lollipops, and baked beans in tiny jars, a Southern fried station that featured short plates of buttermilk and hot sauce marinated fried chicken tenders served with creamy mashed potatoes in rustic jar and a pipette of black pepper gravy, cornmeal encrusted fried catfish served over collard greens with country remoulade and a hot sauce bar, our signature mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes with anan Appalachian dill buttermilk dip, and a cheesecake and snickerdoodle bar to finish it all off!

It was such a pleasure to be a part of Shawde and Adam's wedding celebration, thank you for allowing us to have so much fun with your menu, and for becoming friends!
